How Your Group's Environmental Ethic Changed
Our environmental ethic is to beautify our school and to encourage our community to become more environmentally sound.
What We Wish We Had Known Before We Started.
We wish we would have known how intense the labor was going to be when digging the trenches. We also needed to make several trips for supplies due to the fact that we were unable to predict how much material was needed. We also wish we had more time to make additions to our project.
How We Made A Difference
We made a difference by cleaning up the trash, brush, and other materials that were cluttering our school campus. We planted tulips, impatiens, and grass seed to add color and life to the campus. We also added rocks and soil to help erosion.
Who Or What Has Shaped Environmental Thinking In Your Culture Or Country?
Our science teacher, Mrs. Cruise, has been our initial influence to take action in our community and develop an environmental ethic. Her efforts and ours were greatly influenced by Henry's journals, the news, and other science related material.
Next Steps
1. Insure that our project is kept neat and tidy.
2. Make more additions to the school in the near future.
3. Next year, try to plant some native perennial plants.
